Summer Camp Nepal for Orphaned Children
Be part of this wonderful endeavor to give orphaned and destitute children self-belief, faith and wisdom by volunteering in a summer camp organized by RCDP-Nepal. At least 100 children will participate in the event. These children are the future of Nepal and RCDP-Nepal believes that giving them exposure and knowledge through our summer camp will increase their confidence and make them believe they possess a brighter future. Our intention is also for their all around growth – spiritual as well as education. Every morning, a yoga session will be organized, where children as well as volunteers will learn about breathing practices that will calm their mind, give them mental as well as physical strength and enhance their memory power.
In the afternoon, each day a tour to cultural and historical places, museums, temples and monasteries will be organized inside Kathmandu Valley. In the evening, there will either be educational or spiritual lectures, or our staffs supported by volunteers will teach children English and other subjects and entertain them. Dr. Chitamai Yogi will supervise the camp. Dr. Yogi is a renowned educationist, social worker, spiritualist and a philosopher. He has conducted summer camps many times in the US and UK.
Upon completion of the program, volunteers will travel to Pokhara to take part on a breathtaking tour of Annapurna Himalayan Range. The trek, lasting 5 days, will take volunteers higher than 3 thousand meters from where you can witness a vista of wonderful snow covered peaks. This will culminate a thoroughly engrossing program which will enrich the lives of the volunteers and uplift the spirits of orphaned children.
Location
The camp will go organized in Lamatar, a semi rural village on the outskirt of Kathmandu Valley. The village is an ideal place to hold the camp as the location is not far away from Kathmandu and is very peaceful and pollution free.
