Ying Li Liu-Hong Kong
My experience with RCDP-India was great that I could never find a word to describe such an enriched and overly plentiful blessed experience. Before my arrival, I had lots of things roaming in my mind but all have gone immediately upon my arrival with the language and cultural orientation. The accommodation and food arrangement had been absolutely wonderful, very clean and comfortable. I found the food in the hostel and in my host family so delicious. The staffs in India are really very good, cooperative and hard working.
The numerous opportunities offered by RCDP-India for the volunteering were the golden chances to join in the different projects. As per my program schedule I had assigned for an orphanage project in the beginning but here I got so many chances to involve in the different sectors like Community work, Women projects and some Environmental activities. I had a great pleasure to work in the women empowerment program. Many of the girls were from suppressed and abusive families. Another area I have had the pleasure to work in was administrative area. Much of this work has been conceptualizing and consisting in the creation of documents. Through all projects, I was involved in; I got truly amazing experience. On these programs I found local people’s involvement a lot and it was more interesting to work with them for their educational awareness.
I was able to work with a woman who regularly volunteers in the orphanage in devising a better plan for the smooth functioning in the project. Not only in the teaching but I worked on the cleanliness and maintaining the children’s clothes too. I made an investigation about the orphan kids and tried to find out the reasons how they became orphan. Except my project work, I occasionally went to the clubs where I found lovely swimming pool and different varieties of tasty food. I got chance to learn some Yoga lessons, which was really enlightened.
The overall experiences stated with RCDP-India have been beyond pleasure. I will recommend this organization to all my friends and relatives once I will be back to my country.
