The language, village stay and Chitwan activities were a very good introduction to Nepal. Although I found I didn't learn much Nepali, the language course was good in that it made the transition much easier. It was good to be in a class and get to know the other volunteers. The village stay was on interesting experience, seeing village life, going for walks and meeting the host family. The Chitwan activities were a lot of fun, especially the elephant ride.

It was interesting to see how people live, and to be interested in the day to day activities. My only recommendation would be to perhaps include a few more sight seeing activities during the language course. My host family is lovely. It was an interesting experience to stay in a real Nepali home, seeing how everything works, sitting with the family and joining in the meal, talking and laughing. The experience allows total immersion in to daily life. The food was good and serving generous. My accommodation was really good-comfortable, private and everything I required there. The family was really lovely and made me feel at home.

My working project was an interesting experience. Lots of hard work weeding in the heat, planting trees, preparing the garden for seed planting. It was also good to meet other volunteers and work and playing with them.

I really enjoyed meeting the children at the orphanage and playing with them. They are lots of fun to be with.

Yes, I do recommend RCDP Nepal to upcoming volunteers. The longer the stay better. I stayed for a month and would have liked to have stayed longer. The experiences open both your heart and your mind. Although at time it can be difficult it is such a rich experience. Come with an open mind, be open and enjoy all the experiences whether they are difficult or easy look around and see as much as you can, but also sit quietly just to feel it all.
