Jomsom and Muktinath Trek is a captivating trek through the Annapurna region that displays the diverse Nepalese landscape along with the deeply rich culture of its people. The trail leads you through the world’s deepest gorge (Kaligandaki) to the most revered Muktinath temple, an important place of pilgrimage for the Hindus and Buddhists.

Your Jomsom Muktinath trek starts with an excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Valley and then takes you through the panoramic landscapes of the Annapurna Region. Here, you can experience the stunning views of the grand peaks along with the ancient Nepalese culture. The diverse route ranges from forests of red rhododendron to rocky cliffs as well as the desert of Mustang.

Jomsom Muktinath Trek 13 Days Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu), our support team will greet you and escort you to the hotel. The rest of the day is reserved for your rest.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara:

You will be driven to Pokhara by tourist bus, enjoying an afternoon of exploration. You will love watching terraced farms and enchanting huts on the way. From Kathmandu to Pokhara, it is about 206 KM and takes around 6 hours. Boating in Phewa lake and spend a night in Pokhara.

Day 03: Pokhara to Tikhedhunga:

You drive to Nayapul and then trek to Tikhedhunga through Birethani. Overnight stay at Tikhedhunga.

Day 4: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2750m) 7 hours

Today, you start the trek with a sharp ascent to Ulleri. From Ulleri, you, ascend through the enchanting thick rhododendron and magnolia forests to arrive at Ghorepani.

Day 5: Trek from Ghorepani to Tatopani (1190m) 6 hours

The fifth day of your Jomsom and Muktinath 13 Days Trek starts with an early morning trek to Tatopani, enjoying the amazing views of Annapurna South and Nilgiri mountains. Descend to Ghar Khola village through Sikha village and cross a suspension bridge. From the bridge, you take a steep ascent to Tatopani, where you can experience soothing your sore muscles in a natural Hot Spring.

Day 6: Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa (2110) 6 hours

After having breakfast, you climb slowly with the Kali Gandaki River on your right. You will also get to explore the the beautiful Rupse stream as you ascend further to Ghasa village. The beautiful and warm Ghasa village lies at the foot of the Kali Gandaki Valley and is a famous place for bird-watching.

Day 7: Trek from Ghasa to Marpha (2680m) 5 hours

Leaving Ghasa, you ascend on a sharp trail to the Lete village passing through a forest and the Lete stream. Continue walking on a route east of the river until you reach Larjung village. The trail greets you with beautiful apple trees and vegetable farms. After several hours, you reach Marpha village.

Day 8: Trek from Marpha to Kagbeni (2810m) 5 hours

Leaving Marpha on the 7th day of your 13 Days Jomsom Muktinath Trek, you ascend slowly until you reach Jomsom village. From here, you walk to the north towards Kagbeni village passing through Eklebhatti village. From the path you can see the deepest gorge on the earth called Kali Gandaki. The village of Kagbeni offers you the chance to observe brilliant views of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri mountains.

Day 9: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath (3710m) 6 hours

Your trek permit will be checked at Kagbeni. From here, you take a steep ascent to re-join the direct path leading to Khingar. The trail offers you the opportunity to explore the picturesque surroundings. From Khingar, passing through a desert landscape, you reach Muktinath.

Day 10: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2710m) 6 hours

Muktinath is a significant place of pilgrimage for the Hindus as well as Buddhists. You get the opportunity to pay a visit to this temple and its surroundings in the morning. You can also take part in water sports and explore the Buddhists monastery nearby. From Muktinath, you return back to Jomsom, exploring the stunning views of Mt. Dhaulagiri.

Day 11: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara

You pack up early and take a morning flight to Pokhara, enjoying the amazing scenes of the gorge between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains. The rest of the day is reserved for your rest or you can explore the beautiful Pokhara city.

Day 12: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

On this 12th day of your 13 Days Jomsom Muktinath trek, you will be driven back to Kathmandu. This scenic drive provides you with amazing views of the terraced hills and the rural Nepalese lifestyle.

Day 13: Final Departure
