7 Days Kathmandu and Pokhara with Rafting Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu

Landing in Kathmandu on clear day will give you an opportunity to enjoy sights of the snow-capped mountain sprawling below. A representative will greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel for check in. Later, you will be briefed about the Kathmandu and Pokhara 7 day tour with rafting.

Day 2: Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu

After a hearty breakfast you will begin your trip to the first destination of the Kathmandu and Pokhara 7 day trip with rafting, which is the Pashupatinath temple. The main attraction of Pashupatinath is the temple of lord Shiva located on the banks of the Bagmati River. Along with the temple, there are several monuments of gods located in the vicinity. You will get to witness various rituals of Hinduism, from worshipping to cremation ceremonies.

The next destination of your 7-day Kathmandu and Pokhara trip with rafting is Boudhanath Stupa. It is the center of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. The spiritual energy of the palace will give you much needed peace amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.

The next stop of the tour is Swayambhunath, which is one of the holiest Buddhist Chaitayas of Nepal and has several monasteries and shrines of Buddhist and Hindu deities in the complex. You will witness fascinating religious diversity. The stupa is located at a hill and the view of the entire Kathmandu valley from the top of the hill is spectacular.

Another stop on the Kathmandu and Pokhara trip with rafting is Patan Durbar Square. The Durbar Square reflects the rich art and architecture of ancient times. It has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979. The main highlights of Durbar Square are Malla Palace (museum), Krishna Mandir, Golden Temple, Kumbeshwor Temple and Golden Temple.

Day 3: Drive to Charaudi and Rafting towards Kurintaar

On day 3 of your Kathmandu and Pokhara tour with rafting you drive towards Charaudi early in the morning, while enjoying the picturesque view on the way. After a brief lesson on safety measures on rafting you will start to raft from Charaudi. The rapids of class 1 to 3 will greet you. It will take you through an amazing ride of twists and turns amidst high mountain peaks, dense vegetation and wilderness.

You will encounter Trishuli gorge, which is responsible for accelerating the river and adds excitement to your trip. After rafting, you will have dinner in a camp alongside the river. The night at the tented camp in Kuringhat will mark the end of the third day.

Day 4: Drive from Kurintaar to Pokhara

Day 5: Sightseeing in Pokhara

The fifth day of the 7 day tour of Kathmandu and Pokhara with rafting comprises of sightseeing at Pokhara. Here, the breathtaking and tantalizing view of picturesque mountains will welcome you. The city is also famous as a city of lakes. You will be visiting several lakes including Phewa, Begnas and Rupa. You will also visit caves and Binde Basini Temple. On top of this, you will be visiting Davis fall, which is a gorge of the Seti River and Tibetan refugee camp.

Day 6: Return to Kathmandu

After sightseeing in Pokhara you will return to Kathmandu on the sixth day of your Kathmandu and Pokhara 7 days trip with rafting. If time permits you can indulge in any activity of your choice, like shopping, walking or sightseeing in the local market.
