Nepal is a country of diverse landscape. From hot and sweltering region bordering in India, the landscape rises steeply and sometimes steadily to encompass the mighty Himalayas. Within this landscape, you’ll find green valleys, deep gorges, forests, steep terrains and rivers that crisscross the sceneries. The people of Nepal are as diverse as the landscape. The country is an amalgamation of Aryans that migrated from India and Iran, and Tibeto-Burmans groups that arrived from Tibet, China and Burma.
RCDP-Nepal’s volunteer program taps into this beauty of Nepal by offering cultural program, where you’ll intimately get connected with the warm and ever welcoming people, and volunteer programs, where you’ll work to improve the lives of desperately poor people. You can choose from diverse volunteer programs of RCDP-Nepal like Work in Orphanage, Teaching English, Health Project, Environment and Conservation Project, Photo Journalism and many others.

The Fee and Dates
RCDP Nepal volunteer Program starts every 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month.

Every year, hundreds of volunteers arrive in Nepal to volunteer from UK and USA based organizations and end up paying up to $2500 to volunteer for 2 weeks. However, RCDPoffers the most affordable program fee.Our program fee starts as low as $399. The program fee is divided in as registration fee ($259) and weekly fee. In Nepal, in addition to volunteer programs, RCDP runs many projects to help poor children and orphanages. We are presently running 2 orphanages in Nepal and school construction/renovation program (for detail, visit: http://www.rcdpnepal.org/about_rcdp/achievements.php). Majority of your program fee is used for your program. However, as RCDP aims is to support poor communities and children, we use remaining saving (if any left)) to run or manage our orphanages and community projects.

Arrangement of room/food/supervision
RCDP will manage your accommodation, food and supervision while you work in a volunteer program. You will stay either with a host family, in a project hostel or in a Home base. In the Home base, you’ll share your room with other volunteers and use communal toilets. You’ll be served 3 meals a day. Meals in the Home base can be local or continental. In the host family, you’ll have a room for yourself and will be served 3 local meals a day. Staying with a host family will provide you with a wonderful opportunity to experience Nepali lifestyle and live with a warm and welcoming family. You can even learn to cook Nepali food. While volunteering, our staffs will visit you every two weeks. During the visit, we will check on your progress and make sure you’re satisfied and happy.
